Technopolymer with high chemical and thermal resistance

ULTEM ™ AM9085F, polyetherimide (PEI) produced by Sabic, is an amorphous thermoplastic having high resistance to acids and hydrolysis, as well as excellent thermal and mechanical properties.
The stability of the peptide bonds present in the polymer gives it a high resistance to heat, deformation and high rigidity. Moreover, it has a high glass transition temperature and is an excellent flame retardant, with low smoke generation and good mechanical properties.
These properties make ULTEM ™ AM9085F an ideal candidate in several application fields, in particular, those that require a high strength / density ratio, replacing light metal alloys in different applications. ULTEM ™ is a registered trademark of SABIC or its affiliates.

    ULTEM ™ AM9085F meets the requirements of the aerospace / aviation industry and has an excellent FST classification (Flame, Smoke and Toxicity) useful for various aerospace applications such as components to be assembled in the cabin.

  • Heat resistance

    ULTEM ™ AM9085F has a Heat Deflection Temperature (HDT) of 347°F (175 °C). This means that the parts can maintain their mechanical properties even at high temperatures.

  • Dimensional Stability

    Being an amorphous polymer, the parts in ULTEM ™ AM9085F maintain their dimensional tolerance over a wide range of temperatures, thus ensuring excellent dimensional stability.
