The stability of the peptide bonds present in the polymer gives it a high resistance to heat, deformation and high rigidity. Moreover, it has a high glass transition temperature and is an excellent flame retardant, with low smoke generation and good mechanical properties.

ULTEM ™ AM9085F meets the requirements of the aerospace / aviation industry and has an excellent FST classification (Flame, Smoke and Toxicity) useful for various aerospace applications such as components to be assembled in the cabin.
ULTEM ™ AM9085F has a Heat Deflection Temperature (HDT) of 347°F (175 °C). This means that the parts can maintain their mechanical properties even at high temperatures.
Being an amorphous polymer, the parts in ULTEM ™ AM9085F maintain their dimensional tolerance over a wide range of temperatures, thus ensuring excellent dimensional stability.
