Material overview

CuCrZn (CuCr1Zr) is a precipitation-hardenable copper alloy printed on green- or IR-optimised LPBF systems to handle highly reflective copper. As-built it is conductive but soft; solution treatment plus ageing precipitates chromium and zirconium, recovering near-pure-copper conductivity (>300 W/m·K, ~80% IACS) while raising strength to ~450 MPa UTS — the property that makes it far more useful than pure copper. The alloy of choice for thermal management, induction and high-conductivity parts.
