What your process engineer actually checks

Dual fiber lasers, fastest 403-class throughput

Two 300 W fiber lasers scan in parallel to push build rates to 9 L/h — the highest in the 403 class. For a production floor, that throughput is the difference between meeting a volume commitment and outsourcing it. On an open platform, you keep control of the process while running fast.

Common questions

Don't see yours? Email [email protected] — NDA standard, typical reply within 4 hours.

What throughput does the Flight® 403P-2 achieve?
The Farsoon Flight® 403P-2 builds at up to 9 L/h — its two 300 W fiber lasers scan in parallel, making it the fastest system in the 403 class. Scan speeds reach 20 m/s. Real throughput depends on part geometry, layer thickness and nesting, so Additive Plus can estimate build time for a representative production job during quoting.
What is the difference between the Flight® 403P-2 and the single-laser Flight® 403P?
Both are open fiber-laser SLS systems in the same 400 mm envelope. The Flight® 403P uses a single 500 W fiber laser (up to 6 L/h); the Flight® 403P-2 uses two 300 W fiber lasers scanning in parallel (up to 9 L/h). Choose the 403P-2 when production volume is the priority and the higher throughput pays back. Additive Plus can compare build times for your parts to help you decide.
Is the Flight® 403P-2 an open or closed material system?
The Flight® 403P-2 is a fully open platform. You control laser, scan and thermal parameters through BuildStar and MakeStar®, and you are not locked to a single vendor's powder. Additive Plus helps you develop and validate dual-fiber parameters for each material, so high throughput comes with repeatable, controlled quality rather than a black box.
What materials can the Flight® 403P-2 run?
The Flight® 403P-2 runs fiber-optimised SLS powders including PA12 nylons (FS3300PA-F, FS3201PA-F), glass-bead nylon (FS3401GB-F) and LUVOSINT® TPU, with chamber temperatures to 220 °C. Because the platform is open, other qualified powders can be run too — ask our engineer about a specific material for your production application.
Can the Flight® 403P-2 run unattended production?
Yes. The Flight® 403P-2 is built for production: multi-zone heating with real-time surface-temperature control holds an even bed through long dual-laser builds, and a production UI mode supports repeatable operator-independent runs. As with any SLS system, unattended running assumes correct facility setup and material handling, which Additive Plus covers during installation and training.
What software does the Flight® 403P-2 use?
The Flight® 403P-2 runs Farsoon's BuildStar (machine control) and MakeStar® (build preparation) on 64-bit Windows 10, with open access to key machine parameters, real-time build-parameter modification, 3D visualisation and diagnostics. Additive Plus trains your operators on both during commissioning so the dual-laser system is productive from the first builds.
What power, space and support does the Flight® 403P-2 need?
The Flight® 403P-2 measures 2470 × 1500 × 2145 mm and weighs about 3,060 kg. It runs on 380–400 V three-phase power; for US sites it ships with the required transformer and needs a 22–28 °C ambient environment. As the US partner, Additive Plus handles installation, operator training and local warranty service, with a named engineer replying within 24 hours.
