Fiber-laser speed with fine contours

The Flight® 403P's 500 W fiber laser and dynamic optics push build rates to 6 L/h while a ~100 µm contour spot holds crisp edges — speed and detail that a CO₂ system can't match together. On an open platform, you control and validate the process rather than accept a locked recipe.

About this product

The Farsoon Flight® 403P replaces the CO₂ laser of a standard SLS system with a 500 W fiber laser and dynamic optics — driving build rates up to 6 L/h with a fine ~100 µm contour spot on a 15.7 × 15.7 × 17.7 in / 400 × 400 × 450 mm build (up to 540 mm tall). It targets high-performance polymers and demanding production parts, with fully open parameters. Sold, installed and supported in the US by Additive Plus.

Why production teams choose the Flight® 403P

Fiber-laser SLS — speed and fine detail together, on an open platform.

500 W fiber-laser speed

A single 500 W fiber laser with dynamic optics drives build rates up to 6 L/h and scan speeds to 20 m/s — a clear step up from CO₂ for production throughput.

Fine ~100 µm contour

A ~100 µm contour spot (≈550 µm fill) resolves crisper edges and finer features than a CO₂ system, while the fill beam keeps the interior fast.

High-performance polymers

PA-F nylons, glass-bead nylon and LUVOSINT® TPU, with chamber temperatures to 220 °C — built for demanding, functional production parts.

Open-parameter platform

Full control of laser, scan and thermal parameters via BuildStar / MakeStar® — develop and qualify your own process, not a locked recipe.

Common questions

Don't see yours? Email [email protected] — NDA standard, typical reply within 4 hours.

What build rate and speed does the Flight® 403P achieve?
The Farsoon Flight® 403P builds at up to 6 L/h with scan speeds to 20 m/s from its 500 W fiber laser — meaningfully faster than the CO₂ 403P's 4 L/h. Real throughput on your parts depends on geometry, layer thickness and nesting, so Additive Plus can estimate build time for a representative job during quoting.
Why choose a fiber laser over CO₂ for SLS?
On the Flight® 403P, the fiber laser with dynamic optics delivers higher power and a finer contour spot (~100 µm) than a CO₂ system, which raises throughput and sharpens edges and fine features. The ~550 µm fill beam keeps interiors fast. If your priority is production speed and detail on demanding polymers, fiber is the reason to choose the Flight over the CO₂ 403P; Additive Plus can help you weigh it against cost.
Is the Flight® 403P an open or closed material system?
The Flight® 403P is a fully open platform. You control laser, scan and thermal parameters through BuildStar and MakeStar®, and you are not locked to a single vendor's powder. Additive Plus helps you develop and validate fiber-laser parameters for each material you run, so the openness translates into repeatable production rather than trial and error.
What materials can the Flight® 403P run?
The Flight® 403P runs fiber-optimised SLS powders including PA12 nylons (FS3300PA-F, FS3201PA-F), glass-bead nylon (FS3401GB-F) and LUVOSINT® TPU, with chamber temperatures to 220 °C for higher-performance grades. Because the platform is open, other qualified powders can be run too — ask our engineer about a specific material for your application.
What is the difference between the Flight® 403P and the 403P-2?
The Flight® 403P uses a single 500 W fiber laser (up to 6 L/h). The Flight® 403P-2 uses two 300 W fiber lasers (up to 9 L/h) in the same envelope, for higher production throughput. Both are open fiber-laser platforms; the 403P-2 is the choice when volume is the priority. Additive Plus can compare build times for your parts to help you choose.
What software does the Flight® 403P use?
The Flight® 403P runs Farsoon's BuildStar (machine control) and MakeStar® (build preparation) on 64-bit Windows 10, with open access to key machine parameters, real-time build-parameter modification, 3D visualisation and diagnostics. Additive Plus trains your operators on both during commissioning.
What power, space and support does the Flight® 403P need?
The Flight® 403P measures 2470 × 1500 × 2145 mm and weighs about 3,000 kg. It runs on 380–400 V three-phase power; for US sites it ships with the required transformer and needs a 22–28 °C ambient environment. As the US partner, Additive Plus handles installation, operator training and local warranty service, with a named engineer replying within 24 hours.
