What your metrology engineer actually checks
Optical accuracy you can plan around
Up to 0.05 mm accuracy in LED mode and a 0.2–3 mm point distance are fixed optical specs — numbers you can design and inspect to, not marketing estimates. Every unit is verified against its calibration board before it ships.
An applications engineer on the line
Pre-sale sample scan of your actual parts or subjects, post-sale calibration and workflow support — from engineers who run these scanners, not a remote ticket queue. Sub-4h reply, NDA standard. Demo units available before you commit.
The Shining 3D EinScan H2 is a hybrid light-source handheld 3D scanner that combines a white LED source with three infrared VCSEL projectors in one device — switching between LED mode for up to 0.05 mm accuracy on objects and IR mode for marker-free face, body, and large-surface capture up to 780 × 900 mm.

Why scanning teams choose the EinScan H2
Two light sources, one device, honest optical specs you can plan around.
Hybrid light source in one device
Switch between white-LED mode for up to 0.05 mm accuracy on objects and infrared VCSEL mode for marker-free capture of faces, bodies, and dark surfaces — no second scanner needed.
Accuracy you can measure
Up to 0.05 mm accuracy in LED mode with a 0.2–3 mm point distance — fixed optical specs for design and inspection, not marketing estimates. See full specifications below.
Marker-free on people and large parts
Three infrared VCSEL projectors capture human faces and bodies and large surfaces up to 780 × 900 mm with no markers or spray, holding up on dark surfaces and in bright, lit rooms.
Full-color texture in 5 MP
A 5 MP color camera records photorealistic texture alongside geometry, so heritage pieces, art, and design references come back in full color — ready for documentation and 3D printing.
How Additive Plus delivers your EinScan H2
Calibrated, trained, and supported by engineers who scan every day.
Calibrate & verify
Every unit is checked against its calibration board before it ships — you receive a scanner that meets its stated accuracy on day one.
Install & train
Remote or on-site onboarding on LED and IR modes, alignment, and export to your CAD, QC, or O&P package — your team is productive on the first real scan, not week three.
Sample scan & support
Send us a part or scan subject and we capture it first, so you see H2 data on your geometry before you commit. Post-sale calibration and workflow support with a sub-4h reply.
Scanning Performance
The EinScan H2 pairs a white LED source with three infrared VCSEL projectors and a 5 MP color camera. In LED mode it reaches up to 0.05 mm accuracy for fine object and mechanical scanning; in IR mode it captures faces, bodies, dark surfaces, and large areas up to 780 × 900 mm without markers. Scan speed reaches up to 1,200,000 points/s at a 0.2–3 mm point distance. See the full specification table below.

Working Range & Portability
Working distance is adjustable from 200 to 1500 mm, so the same handheld device moves from a small mechanical part to a full human body or a large sculpture. A wide field of view up to 780 × 900 mm in IR mode covers big surfaces in fewer passes. The H2 connects to a computer running its scanning software, keeping the hardware light in the hand while the workstation handles processing.
Software & Workflow
The EinScan H2 runs on EXScan H, with an optional EXScan O&P package for orthotics and prosthetics workflows. Data alignment supports global markers, feature, texture, and hybrid modes, plus marker-free tracking on geometric features. A non-rigid algorithm handles slight movement during portrait and full-body capture. Scans drop into reverse-engineering and inspection tools and are compatible with Geomagic Design X, EXModel, and BlueStar Mapping.

Typical applications

Send us your part or scan subject and we'll capture it on the EinScan H2 in California — review the mesh and full-color texture on your own geometry before you buy.
From design, heritage, and O&P teams running the EinScan H2
Unedited feedback from hybrid-scanner users.
Captured a full torso for a prosthetic socket markerless in infrared mode — no spray, no targets, and the fit came out on the first print.
LED mode nails small mechanical parts at 0.05 mm, then we flip to IR for a full-body reference in the same afternoon.
Full-color texture at 5 MP made a real difference documenting a museum piece — geometry and color in one pass.
