What your process engineer actually checks

Cleaner powder, better prints

Sub-5 µm fines, surface films and moisture wreck layer spreading and powder-bed density. ATO Pure removes them in a controlled, repeatable cycle — more consistent spreading, stable melt pools and fewer gas-related defects.

Recovery instead of scrap

Degraded powder does not have to be binned. ATO Pure reconditions and dries it for reuse — a longer powder lifecycle, lower raw-material spend and less cross-contamination in multi-material workflows.

An applications engineer on the line

We run ATO ultrasonic atomization in-house through ATO Lab. Powder conditioning, reuse strategy and cross-contamination questions — factory-trained engineers, sub-4h reply, NDA standard.

About this product

ATO Pure is an ultrasonic cleaning-and-drying station that restores used or freshly atomized metal powder — removing the sub-5 µm fines, surface films and moisture that degrade flowability, powder-bed density and final part quality, then gently drying it so it is ready to reuse.

Why AM teams recondition powder with ATO Pure

Fines, surface films and moisture accumulate during atomization and daily printing — ATO Pure turns powder maintenance into a controlled, repeatable process.

Removes sub-5 µm fines

Controlled ultrasonic sonication detaches surface films and dislodges ultra-fine particles from the bulk; a separation module carries the fines away.

Preserves sphericity

Cleaning is gentle enough to keep particle morphology intact — cleaner powder with the same flow, not fractured or degraded particles.

Integrated drying

A built-in drying and conditioning stage removes moisture that drives oxidation — powder comes out ready to spread, at higher bed density with stable melt pools.

Recovery cuts cost

Instead of scrapping degraded powder, ATO Pure reconditions it for reuse — longer powder lifecycle, lower raw-material spend and less cross-contamination.

How ATO Pure reconditions a batch

Automated cleaning and drying cycles with precise sonication control — repeatable batch to batch, lab to production.

Step 01
Load powder

Load used or freshly atomized powder and select the cleaning-and-drying cycle for the alloy.

Step 02
Ultrasonic clean + separate

Controlled sonication detaches fines and surface films; the separation module removes them from the bulk powder.

Step 03
Dry & recondition

Cleaned powder is gently dried and conditioned — ready to spread, back into the printer or into storage.

Where ATO Pure earns its place

Built for labs and production — cleaner powder, measurable part-quality gains, lower cost per build.

Common questions

Don't see yours? Email [email protected] — NDA standard, typical reply within 4 hours.

What does ATO Pure remove from metal powder?
ATO Pure removes ultra-fine particles (below about 5 µm), surface films and contaminants, and moisture from metal powder. These accumulate during atomization and daily AM operation and degrade flowability, powder-bed density and final part quality. ATO Pure uses controlled ultrasonic sonication with a built-in separation module to extract the fines, then dries and conditions the cleaned powder ready for reuse.
Does ultrasonic cleaning damage the powder or change particle shape?
No. ATO Pure uses controlled sonication tuned to detach surface impurities and dislodge ultra-fine particles without damaging particle morphology. Sphericity is preserved, so you get cleaner powder with the same flow characteristics rather than fractured or degraded particles. Sonication parameters are set precisely and repeatably for each batch.
Which powders and alloys is ATO Pure compatible with?
ATO Pure supports a wide range of metal powders and cleaning fluids, covering common AM alloys such as steels, titanium, nickel, aluminium and copper. It handles powder from both atomization and printing, and its flexible fluid compatibility suits diverse AM and powder-metallurgy workflows. Additive Plus configures it around your specific alloys and throughput.
How does cleaner powder improve printed part quality?
Cleaner, drier powder spreads more consistently and reaches higher, repeatable powder-bed density, which stabilises melt pools and reduces gas-related defects. In practice that means improved mechanical properties (UTS, yield strength, hardness), lower porosity, and reduced scrap and downtime. ATO Pure turns powder maintenance into a controlled, measurable part of your quality process.
Can I reuse powder after ATO Pure, and how much does it save?
Yes — that is the point. Rather than discarding degraded powder, ATO Pure reconditions and dries it for reuse, extending powder lifecycle and reducing raw-material purchases. Savings depend on your alloy cost and reuse rate, but powder is typically the largest consumable in AM, so extending its life directly lowers operating cost per build. It also reduces cross-contamination risk in multi-material workflows.
What is the lead time and how is ATO Pure priced?
ATO Pure is configured to order and priced per configuration, so pricing and lead time depend on your powder, batch size and throughput. Request a quote and an Additive Plus applications engineer will confirm the right configuration, current lead time and a full quotation — usually with a sub-4h first response.
