Description
Hifax™ TRC 770P MX PK81 is a high melt flow, mineral-filled Thermoplastic Polyolefin Elastomer (TPO) engineered for large, molded-in-color automotive components. This UV-stabilized resin offers an excellent balance of stiffness, impact strength, and processability, delivering superior surface aesthetics and durability for demanding exterior applications without the need for painting.
Key Features & Benefits
- High Flow (28 MFR): Enables easy filling of large, complex molds like bumper fascias, reducing cycle times and improving productivity.
- Excellent Stiffness/Toughness Balance: A 1600 MPa flexural modulus provides structural rigidity, while high impact resistance ensures durability.
- UV Stabilized & Molded-in-Color: Formulated for long-term weatherability and excellent surface appearance, eliminating the cost of painting.
- Optimized for Automotive Exteriors: Specifically designed for parts like bumper fascias that require a combination of aesthetics and performance.
- Low Density: Offers potential for lightweighting compared to engineering plastics.
Primary Applications
- Automotive Bumper Fascias
- Automotive Exterior Trim
- Other Molded-in-Color Body Panels
- Industrial and Recreational Vehicle Exteriors
Processing Notes (Injection Molding)
- Melt Temperature: 200 – 230°C (392 – 446°F) is a typical range for polyolefins. Consult manufacturer for specific guidelines.
- Mold Temperature: 40 – 80°C (104 – 176°F) is recommended for a good surface finish and dimensional stability.
