Cure state, not just the datasheet

The 87 °C HDT at 1.82 MPa and 2300 MPa flexural modulus quoted for xMODEL35-Gray assume a full post-cure — 2 × 30 min in the XiP Cure or 60 min in the xCURE, after a 2 min xClean and 5 min IPA wash on a fully dried part. We ship the validated wash and cure routine with the cartridge so your measured parts match the TDS.

About this product

Nexa3D xMODEL35-Gray is a rigid LSPc photopolymer that combines stiffness, strength and temperature resistance in one model resin. Gray pigment reads surface detail cleanly under raking light, so design reviews happen on the part.

Why engineers choose xMODEL35-Gray

The step up from xMODEL15 when a XiP part must hold shape under load and warmth.

87 °C HDT at 1.82 MPa

Heat deflection is 87 °C at 1.82 MPa and 64 °C at 0.45 MPa (ASTM D648) — fixtures and housings hold shape in a warm shop.

2300 MPa flexural modulus

2300 MPa flexural modulus and 108 MPa flexural stress (ASTM D790) keep thin walls and long spans from sagging.

53 MPa tensile, 83 D hardness

53 MPa tensile strength, 1765 MPa Young’s modulus and 83 D Shore hardness (ASTM D638 / D2240) — a hard surface that sands and paints well.

UL94 HB and low water pickup

UL94 HB at 1.5 mm and 0.42% water absorption over 24 h (ASTM D570), so parts hold properties in humid storage.

How we supply xMODEL35-Gray

Typical applications

Where a stiff, heat-tolerant gray model earns its place.

Functional prototypes
Load-bearing concept parts that survive fit checks and hand testing
Jigs and assembly fixtures
Locating aids that keep tolerance next to warm equipment
Design review models
Gray reads draft, parting lines and radii under raking light
Enclosures and housings
Thin-wall covers and brackets needing 2300 MPa flexural stiffness
Consumer product mock-ups
Sanded and painted appearance models on an 83 D surface
Short-run end-use parts
Low-volume parts near 87 °C HDT service conditions

Compatible printers & post-processing

This 1.5 kg cartridge feeds the Nexa3D XiP and XiP Pro LSPc printers. The same resin also comes in a 5 kg bottle for the NXE 400 and NXE 400 Pro. Post-processing is a two-stage wash: up to 2 minutes in xClean, then up to 5 minutes in IPA. Dry fully, then UV post-cure — 2 × 30 minutes in the XiP Cure, or one 60-minute cycle in the xCURE. Full cure is what delivers the quoted 87 °C HDT and 2300 MPa flexural modulus; under-cured parts fall short of both.

Tell us your printer, target detail and finishing route — a materials engineer will confirm whether xMODEL35-Gray or another LSPc grade fits the part, and send the cure settings with it. Sub-4h reply, NDA standard.

Common questions

Don't see yours? Email [email protected] — NDA standard, typical reply within 4 hours.

Which printers run Nexa3D xMODEL35-Gray 1.5 kg?
The 1.5 kg cartridge of Nexa3D xMODEL35-Gray is made for the Nexa3D XiP and XiP Pro desktop LSPc printers, and it ships with the validated exposure profile for both. If you run an NXE 400 or NXE 400 Pro, the same xMODEL35 chemistry is supplied in a 5 kg bottle instead, so a material qualified on the desktop moves to the larger frame without reformulating. Tell us which printer you run and we will confirm the right pack size and settings before you order.
What colors and pack sizes does xMODEL35 come in?
xMODEL35 is stocked in Gray — this 1.5 kg cartridge for XiP and XiP Pro, and a 5 kg bottle for the NXE 400 series. Gray is the practical engineering shade for xMODEL35-Gray: it reads draft angles, parting lines and radii under raking light far better than clear or light-toned resins, which is why design review models are usually printed in it. It also takes primer and paint well after sanding. If you need a different Nexa3D LSPc shade or volume, ask us and we will check current stock.
How do I wash and post-cure xMODEL35-Gray parts?
Wash Nexa3D xMODEL35-Gray parts in two stages: up to 2 minutes in xClean, then up to 5 minutes in IPA. Dry the part completely before curing, because trapped solvent softens the surface. Post-cure is 2 × 30 minutes in the XiP Cure, or a single 60-minute cycle in the xCURE. The published 87 °C HDT at 1.82 MPa and 2300 MPa flexural modulus assume a full post-cure — under-cured parts measure lower on both. The complete routine ships with every order, and our engineers will review it with you.
What is xMODEL35-Gray best used for?
xMODEL35-Gray is the choice when a XiP part has to hold its shape under load and warmth. With 87 °C HDT at 1.82 MPa, 2300 MPa flexural modulus, 53 MPa tensile strength and 83 D Shore hardness, it suits functional prototypes, jigs and assembly fixtures, thin-wall enclosures and short-run end-use parts. It is a rigid grade, not a tough or flexible one — elongation at break is 9%, so deep-deflection snap fits and living hinges belong on a different resin. Send us the part and we will say honestly which grade fits.
How should xMODEL35-Gray be stored?
Store Nexa3D xMODEL35-Gray cartridges sealed and upright, away from direct sunlight and UV lighting, at normal indoor room temperature. Photopolymer cures on light exposure, so keep the cartridge closed between builds and do not leave resin standing in an open vat under shop lighting. Water absorption is low at 0.42% over 24 hours (ASTM D570), but heat and humidity still shorten usable life. Agitate the cartridge before use to redistribute pigment. Ask us for the current shelf-life figure on the lot we ship you.
Is xMODEL35-Gray biocompatible or certified?
Nexa3D xMODEL35-Gray carries a UL94 HB flammability rating at 1.5 mm, and that is the certification we can state for it. It is not a biocompatible material: the ISO 10993-5 and ISO 10993-10 pass reported for xMODEL35 applies to the non-dyed grade only, and this is the dyed Gray version, so do not specify it for skin-contact, mucosal-contact or any patient-contact application. For medical and patient-contact parts, look at Nexa3D xMED412 instead. Describe the application and we will point you to a properly qualified material.
Can I test xMODEL35-Gray before buying volume?
Yes. Request the Nexa3D LSPc resin sample kit, print your own geometry on your XiP or XiP Pro and judge xMODEL35-Gray on stiffness, surface finish and heat behaviour against your part rather than against a datasheet. For larger programmes we supply lot-matched cartridges so a qualification batch and the production follow-on print the same way. Volume pricing and official purchase orders are supported — tell us your monthly consumption and we will quote accordingly.
