Wear-resistant & biocompatible
CoCrMo combines outstanding wear and corrosion resistance with biocompatibility and high hardness — the standard for dental frameworks and orthopedic implants. Retains strength at elevated temperature. Full COA per lot for ISO 13485 workflows.
A materials engineer on the line
Qualification question? We've run these alloys in production on AO Metal — parameter sets available. Sub-4h reply, NDA standard. Use the Talk to materials engineer button above.
A-Powder CoCrMo is a gas-atomized cobalt-chromium-molybdenum superalloy for laser powder bed fusion (LPBF): outstanding wear and corrosion resistance, high hardness and biocompatibility — the standard for dental frameworks, orthopedic implants and wear-critical parts. US-produced, lot-certified for production.
Why engineers choose A-Powder CoCrMo
Four things a materials team verifies before qualifying a powder.
Outstanding wear resistance
High hardness and wear resistance retained at elevated temperature — bearings, joints and wear-critical parts.
Biocompatible
The medical and dental standard — crowns, bridges, frameworks and orthopedic implants (ASTM F75, ISO 13485 workflows).
Corrosion-resistant, lot-certified
Resists body fluids, oxidation and hot corrosion — full COA per lot with PSD, chemistry, density and flow.
US-produced, fast dispatch
Made in the USA and shipped from Los Angeles in 5–10 business days. Need a tighter cut or an official purchase request? Just ask.
How we supply it
Every lot ships as a verified process, not a bag of powder — melted, atomized, tested, certified.
Melted & atomized
US VIGA (vacuum induction melt + gas atomization) for spherical, low-oxygen cobalt-chrome powder.
Tested & certified
Every lot checked for PSD, chemistry, apparent density and flow — full COA with a traceable lot number.
Dispatched from LA
Bottled or hoppered and shipped from Los Angeles in 5–10 business days.

Heat treatment & processing
- Stress relief before plate removal is recommended to control residual stress.
- Application-specific solution / aging or HIP improves ductility and closes porosity for implantable parts.
- High hardness makes CoCrMo difficult to machine — near-net AM geometry is a key advantage.
Typical applications

From process engineers running A-Powder Cobalt Chrome Powder (CoCrMo) for Metal 3D Printing | LPBF Compatible – 10 kg / 22 lbs
Unedited feedback from customers who reorder A-Powder Cobalt Chrome Powder (CoCrMo) for Metal 3D Printing | LPBF Compatible – 10 kg / 22 lbs.
Same lot 4 times in a row. We stopped re-running parameter sweeps after the second order — density was identical to the first build.
Asked about ferrite content on a Friday. A materials engineer answered Monday morning with actual data, not a sales pitch. That's why we keep ordering.
COA matches the bottle. PSD and flow are exactly what was on the sheet — we run it on a Renishaw 500Q and it hits density on the first try.
