About this product

A-Powder CoCrMo is a gas-atomized cobalt-chromium-molybdenum superalloy for laser powder bed fusion (LPBF): outstanding wear and corrosion resistance, high hardness and biocompatibility — the standard for dental frameworks, orthopedic implants and wear-critical parts. US-produced, lot-certified for production.

Why engineers choose A-Powder CoCrMo

Four things a materials team verifies before qualifying a powder.

Outstanding wear resistance

High hardness and wear resistance retained at elevated temperature — bearings, joints and wear-critical parts.

Biocompatible

The medical and dental standard — crowns, bridges, frameworks and orthopedic implants (ASTM F75, ISO 13485 workflows).

Corrosion-resistant, lot-certified

Resists body fluids, oxidation and hot corrosion — full COA per lot with PSD, chemistry, density and flow.

US-produced, fast dispatch

Made in the USA and shipped from Los Angeles in 5–10 business days. Need a tighter cut or an official purchase request? Just ask.

How we supply it

Every lot ships as a verified process, not a bag of powder — melted, atomized, tested, certified.

Step 01
Melted & atomized

US VIGA (vacuum induction melt + gas atomization) for spherical, low-oxygen cobalt-chrome powder.

Step 02
Tested & certified

Every lot checked for PSD, chemistry, apparent density and flow — full COA with a traceable lot number.

Step 03
Dispatched from LA

Bottled or hoppered and shipped from Los Angeles in 5–10 business days.

Powder characteristics

Property Value
Alloy / grade CoCrMo cobalt-chrome superalloy (ASTM F75 · UNS R30075)
Particle size (PSD) 15–53 µm — LPBF cut (custom cuts available)
Production method VIGA (vacuum induction melt + gas atomized), US-produced
Morphology Spherical, high sphericity, low oxygen
Density ≈ 8.3 g/cm³
Package 10 kg bottle · 440 kg hopper · 840 kg hopper

Chemical composition

Element Content Element Content
Cobalt (Co) Balance Iron (Fe) ≤ 0.75%
Chromium (Cr) 26.0–30.0% Nickel (Ni) ≤ 0.50%
Molybdenum (Mo) 5.0–7.0% Carbon (C) ≤ 0.16%
Si / Mn ≤ 1.0% Nitrogen (N) ≤ 0.25%

Heat treatment & processing

  • Stress relief before plate removal is recommended to control residual stress.
  • Application-specific solution / aging or HIP improves ductility and closes porosity for implantable parts.
  • High hardness makes CoCrMo difficult to machine — near-net AM geometry is a key advantage.

Typical applications

Where teams run wear-resistant, biocompatible CoCrMo printed parts.

Dental
Crowns, bridges, frameworks
Orthopedic implants
Knee, hip joints, spacers
Wear parts
Bearings, seals, cutting edges
Turbine & high-temp
Hot-gas and combustion parts

Same lot 4 times in a row. We stopped re-running parameter sweeps after the second order — density was identical to the first build.

Asked about ferrite content on a Friday. A materials engineer answered Monday morning with actual data, not a sales pitch. That's why we keep ordering.

COA matches the bottle. PSD and flow are exactly what was on the sheet — we run it on a Renishaw 500Q and it hits density on the first try.
