What your lab manager actually checks
Release is a tested property, not a hope
Over 130% elongation at break and a vendor-tested pass on orthodontic adhesive release are what let a tray peel off in one piece on bonding day. Both depend on a full 405 nm post-cure — we share the wash and cure schedule so the tray behaves in the chair the way it behaved on the model.
A materials engineer on the line
Tray design, wall thickness, orientation and post-cure — answered by engineers who print Nexa3D LSPc in-house. Sub-4h reply, NDA standard.
Nexa3D KeyOrtho IBT for XiP is the KeyPrint indirect bonding tray resin in a 1 kg smart cartridge — a soft, high-elongation photopolymer that carries brackets to their planned position on the XiP, then peels off the adhesive instead of fighting it.

Why orthodontic practices choose KeyOrtho IBT
Four properties that decide whether a tray survives bonding day.
Flexes instead of cracking
Over 130% elongation at break (ASTM D638) — the tray stretches over undercuts and comes off in one piece rather than snapping around a bracket.
Releases from the adhesive
Formulated for clean release from orthodontic cement — the vendor tests adhesive release as a property, not as a hope.
Tested to ISO 10993
Cytotoxicity passes ISO 10993 and free monomer extraction stays under 2.2% to ISO 20795-2. Indications follow the current KeyPrint IFU.
Chairside-speed XiP workflow
The smart cartridge loads its validated profile into NexaX automatically, so a tray can be designed, printed and cured inside a working day.
From cartridge to bonded arch
Three steps that decide whether the tray transfers the plan.
Print on the XiP
Drop the cartridge in; the NFC chip hands NexaX the validated KeyOrtho IBT profile. The resin is designed for vat polymerisation between 385 and 405 nm.
Wash
Clean in xCLEAN or IPA with short soak times. An over-soaked flexible tray loses the exact bracket pockets you printed it for.
Cure
UV post-cure at 405 nm to full properties. Under-curing leaves surface monomer and hurts both release and biocompatibility.
