One lot across the whole run

A single 220 kg drum feeds an entire build campaign on one traceable lot — 52 MPa tensile, 12% elongation, Shore 85 D by BASF Forward AM ASTM methods — so parts hold the same properties and dimensions from first plate to last.

About this product

x45 Natural is BASF Forward AM’s tough general-purpose photopolymer for Nexa3D LSPc printers, supplied here as a 220 kg production drum. Same 52 MPa tensile, 12% elongation and 15 cm/hr-plus build speed as the cartridge grade — sized for continuous, high-throughput printing on XiP Pro and NXE fleets.

Nexa3D x45 Natural tough prototyping resin 220 kg production drum for LSPc printers
Nexa3D x45 Natural — 220 kg drum for high-throughput LSPc production.

Why production teams standardize on x45

A tough, fast resin sized for volume, with numbers behind every claim.

Tough, not brittle

52 MPa tensile strength, 12% elongation at break and 20 J/m notched Izod. Functional parts that get handled and tested, not just displayed.

Ultrafast on LSPc

Vertical build speeds above 15 cm/hr on XiP Pro and NXE. Layer-at-once curing keeps throughput high across a full plate.

Production-scale supply

A single 220 kg drum feeds continuous or automated resin delivery, so a fleet runs on one traceable lot instead of dozens of cartridges.

Lot-consistent parts

Every drum ships with batch traceability and Nexa3D-validated print styles, so parts hold the same dimensions and properties across a run.

How we supply the x45 drum

Scheduled production supply, a validated profile and a repeatable finish.

Step 01
Scheduled supply

The 220 kg drum is made to order; we confirm lead time and schedule delivery to match your production cadence.

Step 02
Print on LSPc

Feed XiP Pro or NXE systems from the drum using the validated x45 profile in NexaX — no settings to develop.

Step 03
Wash & cure

Two 2-minute washes in IPA or xClean, then UV post-cure to reach the full 52 MPa / Shore 85 D properties.

Planning a fleet on x45?

Share your volume We schedule supplyYou never stall a printer

Tell us your monthly x45 volume and printer fleet, and we'll build a drum supply schedule with dispensing guidance so production runs on one traceable lot without changeover gaps.

Common questions

Don't see yours? Email [email protected] — NDA standard, typical reply within 4 hours.

Which printers can run the x45 220 kg drum?
The drum feeds Nexa3D LSPc systems — primarily the XiP Pro and NXE-series industrial printers, and the XiP desktop — using the validated x45 profile in NexaX. At this volume it suits continuous or automated resin delivery so a fleet runs from a single traceable lot rather than dozens of cartridges.
What are the mechanical properties of x45?
Post-cured x45 reaches 52 MPa tensile strength, 1600 MPa tensile modulus, 12% elongation at break, 95 MPa flexural strength, 20 J/m notched Izod and Shore 85 D hardness (BASF Forward AM values, ASTM methods). x45 Natural has the same mechanical profile as the Clear and Black grades — the drum only changes the pack size.
Why buy x45 as a 220 kg drum instead of cartridges?
A drum keeps a whole build campaign on one traceable lot, reduces resin changeovers, and lowers cost per kilogram versus small packs. It also supports automated dispensing on XiP Pro and NXE fleets. For lower volumes, x45 is also sold in 1 kg cartridges and 5 kg bottles.
How is the drum supplied and what is the lead time?
The 220 kg drum is made to order. We confirm lead time at quote and schedule delivery to match your production cadence, so printers do not stall waiting on resin. Use the Request drum quote button and a materials engineer will set up a supply plan.
What post-processing does x45 need?
Wash printed parts twice for two minutes each in IPA or Nexa3D xClean, then UV post-cure. x45 develops its full 52 MPa strength and Shore 85 D hardness only after curing. At production volume, matched wash-and-cure equipment keeps the finish consistent across a run.
How is x45 Natural different from Clear and Black?
The three grades share the same tough mechanical profile and differ only in appearance. Natural is the base translucent tone supplied in this drum, Clear adds good out-of-printer optical clarity, and Black gives a matte, low-glare finish. Choose by the look you need; properties are equivalent.
Can I order on a purchase order or volume contract?
Yes. Drum supply is well suited to official purchase orders and recurring volume contracts. Use the Request drum quote button and a materials engineer will confirm pricing, lead time and a delivery schedule aligned to your production plan.
