Description

COPYLENE® CM500LN is a controlled rheology, medium impact polypropylene copolymer engineered for high-speed, thin-wall injection molding. With an extremely high melt flow rate (MFR 50), it offers exceptional processability and fast cycle times while maintaining a crucial balance of stiffness and impact resistance. Manufactured with a non-phthalate catalyst.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Extremely High Flow (50 MFR): Excellent for filling complex, thin-walled molds quickly and efficiently, reducing cycle times.
  • Controlled Rheology: Provides consistent and predictable processing behavior.
  • Balance of Stiffness & Impact: Maintains structural integrity and toughness despite its high flow.
  • Non-Phthalate Catalyst: Manufactured without phthalates, a consideration for certain market preferences.
  • Good Processability: Easy to mold with minimal energy consumption.

Primary Applications

  • Thin-Wall Containers: Food storage, disposable packaging.
  • Consumer Goods: Housewares, toys, and products requiring detailed features.
  • Technical Parts: Components where fast cycling and easy flow are critical.

Processing Notes (Injection Molding)

  • Melt Temperature: 190 – 230°C (374 – 446°F) – Typical for high-flow PP
  • Mold Temperature: 40 – 80°C (104 – 176°F)
  • Drying: Not typically required; store in a dry environment.
