About this product

Nexa3D xMODEL35-Gray is a rigid, high-performance LSPc model resin that combines stiffness, strength and temperature resistance in one 405 nm photopolymer. It prints functional models, jigs and short-run end-use parts that stay stable to an 87 °C heat deflection temperature at 1.82 MPa.

Why engineers choose xMODEL35-Gray

Numbers from the official Nexa3D xMODEL35 technical data sheet.

87 °C HDT at 1.82 MPa

64 °C at 0.45 MPa and 87 °C at 1.82 MPa (ASTM D648), with a 112 °C glass transition by DMA tan δ. Geometry holds in warm shop conditions.

2300 MPa flexural modulus

108 MPa flexural stress (ASTM D790), 1765 MPa tensile modulus and 53 MPa tensile strength (ASTM D638). Thin ribs and snaps stay stiff under load.

UL94 HB at 1.5 mm

Rated HB in the UL94 horizontal burn test at 1.5 mm thickness — a documented flammability rating for enclosure mock-ups and electronics fixtures.

Stiff without being brittle

21 J/m notched and 112 J/m unnotched IZOD (ASTM D256), 9% elongation at break, 83 D Shore hardness. Press-fits and handling do not chip the part.

How we supply xMODEL35-Gray

Step 01
Formulated & tested

Nexa3D formulates xMODEL35 for LSPc at 405 nm and publishes a full ASTM property set. Every value in the table below comes from the official data sheet.

Step 02
Stocked & lot-matched

We hold 5 kg bottles in US stock and dispatch in 2 business days. Repeat orders are lot-matched where stock allows, so exposure settings stay put.

Step 03
Print, wash & cure

Wash up to 2 minutes in xClean, then up to 5 minutes in IPA. Dry fully, then post-cure 2×30 min in XiP Cure or 1×60 min in xCURE.

Compatible printers & post-processing

xMODEL35-Gray is an LSPc photopolymer cured at 405 nm and runs on the Nexa3D XiP, XiP Pro, NXE 400 and NXE 400 Pro. The 5 kg bottle suits open-vat printing and bulk refilling; for XiP in the sealed cartridge format, order the 1.5 kg xMODEL35 cartridge instead. Post-processing is a two-stage wash: up to 2 minutes in xClean, then up to 5 minutes in IPA. Dry the part completely, then post-cure 2×30 minutes in XiP Cure or a single 60-minute cycle in xCURE.

Tell us your printer, target detail and finishing route — we will confirm whether xMODEL35-Gray hits your stiffness and temperature targets, or point you at the resin that does. Every enquiry goes to a materials engineer running Nexa3D LSPc resins in-house. Sub-4h reply, NDA standard.

Common questions

Don't see yours? Email [email protected] — NDA standard, typical reply within 4 hours.

Which printers is Nexa3D xMODEL35-Gray compatible with?
Nexa3D xMODEL35-Gray runs on the Nexa3D LSPc platform at 405 nm: XiP, XiP Pro, NXE 400 and NXE 400 Pro. This 5 kg bottle is the bulk format for open-vat printing and refilling. If you print on XiP and prefer the sealed cartridge, order the 1.5 kg xMODEL35 cartridge instead. Exposure and cure settings differ between machine generations, so use the profile matched to your printer rather than porting settings across models — we supply the validated LSPc profile with the order. Tell us which printer you run and we will confirm the correct profile before you buy.
What colors and sizes is xMODEL35 available in?
This listing is xMODEL35 in gray, supplied in a 5 kg bottle. Gray reads surface detail, draft angles and parting lines clearly under shop lighting, which makes it the default choice for engineering review models and functional prototypes. The same xMODEL35 resin is also sold in a 1.5 kg sealed cartridge for XiP printers, where lower volume or faster material changeover matters more than cost per kilo. If you need a different color or a volume we do not list, we stock the wider Nexa3D LSPc resin line. Tell us your monthly volume and we will match the right format and quote it.
How do I wash and cure parts printed in xMODEL35-Gray?
Wash xMODEL35-Gray parts in xClean for up to 2 minutes, then in IPA for up to 5 minutes. Dry the part completely before curing — trapped solvent softens the surface and pulls down the final heat deflection temperature. Post-cure for two 30-minute cycles in XiP Cure, or a single 60-minute cycle in xCURE. Under-curing is the most common reason parts miss the published 87 °C HDT and 2300 MPa flexural modulus, so keep the full cycle even on small geometries. If parts are coming out soft, send us your wash and cure route and a materials engineer will review it.
What is xMODEL35-Gray best suited for?
xMODEL35-Gray suits parts that need stiffness and heat tolerance at the same time: functional prototypes, jigs and fixtures, enclosures and short-run end-use parts. The supporting numbers are 2300 MPa flexural modulus, 108 MPa flexural stress and 87 °C HDT at 1.82 MPa, with 21 J/m notched IZOD impact so parts take handling and press-fits without chipping. It is not an elastomer, a castable or a dental resin — for those applications a different Nexa3D LSPc grade is the right call. Send us the part and its load case and we will confirm whether xMODEL35-Gray fits.
How should xMODEL35-Gray be stored?
Store xMODEL35-Gray sealed in its original 5 kg bottle, out of direct sunlight and away from UV sources, at stable room temperature. Ambient light slowly starts cure at the liquid surface, so keep the cap on and avoid decanting into clear containers. Shake or roll the bottle before pouring to redistribute pigment that settles during shipping. Viscosity is 950 cP at 25 °C and 630 cP at 30 °C, so a cold shop makes the resin noticeably thicker — let it reach room temperature before filling the vat. Handle and dispose of uncured resin per the safety data sheet linked on this page.
Is xMODEL35-Gray biocompatible or certified?
No. xMODEL35-Gray is not supplied as a biocompatible grade and we will not claim otherwise. The ISO 10993-5 and ISO 10993-10 testing published for xMODEL35 applies to the non-dyed grade only; this listing is the dyed gray version and falls outside that scope. What xMODEL35-Gray does carry is a UL94 HB flammability rating at 1.5 mm thickness, which is useful for enclosure and electronics fixtures. If you need a resin for skin or mucosal contact, look at Nexa3D xMED412 instead. Ask us and we will point you at the right grade for your regulatory route.
Can I test xMODEL35-Gray before committing to volume?
Yes. Rather than commit to a 5 kg bottle up front, request the Nexa3D LSPc resin sample kit and print xMODEL35-Gray on your own machine with your own geometry. That is the fastest way to check surface finish, dimensional accuracy and how the part behaves after your wash and cure route. If the sample confirms the fit, we support volume pricing and official purchase orders for production accounts, with lot-matched bottles where stock allows. Tell us your printer and monthly volume and we will put a quote together.
