Nexa3D x45 Black Resin 5kg

Tough. Fast. Heat-stable. Nexa3D x45 Black is a functional photopolymer for prototypes and production models that have to survive handling, assembly and test — 95 MPa flexural strength, 20 J/m notched Izod and a 120 °C heat-deflection temperature, with a draft mode that pushes build rates past 15 cm/hr. The deep black finish needs little cosmetic work.

What your engineering team actually checks

Fast enough to iterate, tough enough to test

x45 Black prints past 15 cm/hr in draft mode yet lands at 95 MPa flexural strength, 20 J/m notched Izod and a 120 °C HDT. Parts survive press-fits, drops and warm test rigs instead of shattering — so the same material covers the design loop and the functional build.

About this product

Nexa3D x45 Black is a tough, fast-printing photopolymer for functional prototypes and production models that have to survive handling, assembly and test. Flexural strength 95 MPa, HDT 120 °C and Shore D 85, with a draft mode that pushes build rates past 15 cm/hr. Supplied as a 5 kg bulk bottle.

x45 Black — 5 kg bulk. Tough, fast-printing resin for functional prototypes and production models.

Why engineers choose x45 Black

Speed and toughness in one material, so iteration doesn’t cost you a week.

Remarkable build speed

Draft build mode drives print rates beyond 15 cm/hr on Nexa3D LSPc machines — same-day iterations instead of overnight waits.

Tough, not brittle

52 MPa tensile strength, 95 MPa flexural strength and 20 J/m notched Izod with 12% elongation — parts take a drop and a press-fit instead of shattering.

Holds heat to 120 °C

HDT of 120 °C at 0.45 MPa means parts stay dimensionally honest in warm test rigs, under-hood fixtures and paint-cure cycles.

First-time build success

Robust print styles and consistent out-of-printer properties mean fewer failed builds and less time spent re-running plates.

From plate to functional part

Validated print and cure profiles ship with the resin — no parameter guesswork.

Step 01
Print fast

Run x45 Black on your Nexa3D LSPc printer using the validated profile, or switch to draft mode when you need the plate back the same day.

Step 02
Wash

Wash parts in IPA and air-dry. Clear internal channels and blind holes before curing so no uncured resin is trapped.

Step 03
Post-cure & finish

Final-cure to develop full strength and HDT, then sand, bead-blast or paint — the deep black finish needs little cosmetic work.

Common questions

Don't see yours? Email [email protected] — NDA standard, typical reply within 4 hours.

Which printers is x45 Black compatible with?
x45 Black is formulated for Nexa3D LSPc printers and ships with Nexa3D's validated exposure profile, including the draft build mode that drives print rates past 15 cm/hr. This 5 kg bottle is the NX/NXE configuration. If you're unsure which version matches your machine, our materials engineer will confirm before you order.
How tough is x45 Black in practice?
It is a tough rather than brittle photopolymer: 52 MPa tensile strength, 95 MPa flexural strength, 20 J/m notched Izod impact and 12% elongation at break. In practical terms, parts tolerate press-fits, snap-fits, assembly handling and drop events that would crack a standard modelling resin.
What temperature can x45 Black parts handle?
The heat-deflection temperature is 120 °C at 0.45 MPa, so fully post-cured parts stay dimensionally stable in warm test rigs, under-hood fixtures and paint-cure cycles. HDT is measured on fully post-cured specimens — under-curing will lower it, so follow the Nexa3D cure guidance.
How is x45 Black different from x45 Clear?
Both share the x45 family's speed and mechanical profile. Choose Black for a deep, cosmetic finish that hides layer lines and needs little finishing work on presentation and enclosure parts; choose Clear when you need optical clarity, for example to inspect internal channels or flow. Mechanical performance is comparable.
How do I wash and post-cure x45 Black?
Wash parts in IPA and air-dry, taking care to clear internal channels and blind holes so no uncured resin stays trapped, then final-cure using the Nexa3D profile. Post-cure is what develops the published strength and 120 °C HDT — under-curing to save time will leave parts weaker and more heat-sensitive than the data sheet.
Why buy the 5 kg bottle?
The 5 kg format lowers cost per gram versus smaller bottles and suits shops running x45 continuously for prototyping and short-run production. If your throughput is lower, a smaller x45 format may make more sense — ask us and we will size it to your actual monthly usage.
x45 Black shows on backorder — when can I get it?
This item is on backorder. Tell us the quantity you need and we will confirm the current lead time and hold your place in the queue. If your build schedule can't wait, our engineer can suggest an in-stock alternative with a comparable mechanical profile.
