Description

ASA (Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate) is an advanced engineering thermoplastic that delivers all the benefits of ABS while adding exceptional weather resistance. This premium ASA material maintains its mechanical properties and color stability when exposed to UV radiation, moisture, and harsh outdoor conditions, making it the ideal choice for demanding exterior applications.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Superior UV Resistance: Withstands prolonged sun exposure without degradation or color fading

  • Excellent Weatherproof Properties: Resists moisture, chemicals, and temperature variations

  • High Impact Strength: Maintains excellent toughness and durability in outdoor environments

  • Enhanced Heat Resistance: Higher heat deflection temperature (90°C) than standard ABS

  • Outdoor Durability: Perfect for parts that need to withstand the elements long-term

Recommended Print Settings

Parameter Recommended Value
Nozzle Temperature 250°C – 270°C
Build Plate Temperature 90°C – 110°C
Chamber Temperature ~50°C (recommended)
Drying Instructions 100°C for 4 hours (before printing)
Print Speed 20 – 80 mm/s
Cooling Fan OFF or Low

Performance Highlights

  • UV Resistance: Excellent – Superior to ABS and PLA

  • Weather Resistance: Outstanding – Withstands outdoor elements

  • Impact Strength: High – Suitable for functional parts

  • Heat Resistance: Very Good (90°C HDT)

Typical Applications

  • Automotive Exterior Parts & Trim

  • Outdoor Housings & Enclosures

  • Garden Equipment & Furniture

  • Architectural Models & Fixtures

  • Sports Equipment & Recreational Gear

  • Signage & Outdoor Displays

Storage & Handling

Store Creatbot ABS Filament in a cool, dry place inside its original sealed bag with desiccant. For long-term storage or in humid environments, use a dry box to prevent moisture absorption, which can lead to printing issues and reduced mechanical properties.
