About this product

The Farsoon FS812M-U is a tall large-format LPBF metal system with a deliberately compact footprint. An 810 × 810 × 1700 mm build runs eight to ten fiber lasers (500 W or 1000 W) in a frame that takes 41% less floor space than the prior generation. A multi-layer gas-flow field, closed-loop chamber pressure and dual oxygen sensors keep metallurgy tight. Sold, installed and supported in the US by Additive Plus.

Why production teams choose the FS812M-U

Tall metal parts and refined process control in a compact large-format LPBF frame.

Tall 1700 mm build

An 810 × 810 mm platform with a 1700 mm Z-height prints tall structural metal parts and high-nest columns in a single build.

8 to 10 fiber lasers

Eight or ten fiber lasers at 500 W, or ten at 1000 W, scan in parallel — configure laser count and power to your alloy and throughput target.

41% smaller footprint

The FS812M-U delivers large-format capacity in a frame that takes 41% less floor space than the previous generation — more build volume per square metre of shop floor.

Tight process control

A multi-layer gas-flow field with dual slits and dual exhaust, closed-loop chamber pressure, independent optical cooling and dual oxygen sensors keep flow uniform and metallurgy repeatable.

Common questions

Don't see yours? Email [email protected] — NDA standard, typical reply within 4 hours.

How large a part can the FS812M-U build?
The FS812M-U has an 810 × 810 × 1700 mm build volume. The tall 1700 mm Z-height is its defining feature — it prints long structural metal parts and high-nest columns in a single build that shorter LPBF systems cannot, while the 810 mm platform keeps a moderate footprint.
How many lasers does the FS812M-U have?
The FS812M-U is offered with eight or ten 500 W fiber lasers, or ten 1000 W lasers. More lasers and higher power raise build rate; the lasers scan in parallel across the 810 mm platform. Additive Plus helps you configure laser count and power to your alloy and throughput target.
What makes the FS812M-U footprint compact?
Farsoon redesigned the frame so the FS812M-U takes about 41% less floor space than the previous-generation equivalent while keeping the tall 810 × 810 × 1700 mm build. That gives you large-format, tall-part capacity in fewer square metres — useful where shop-floor space is constrained.
How does the FS812M-U control gas flow and metallurgy?
The FS812M-U uses a multi-layer gas-flow field with dual slits and dual exhaust for uniform flow with no turbulence or recirculation, plus closed-loop chamber pressure and dual oxygen sensors. Independent optical cooling circuits keep the lasers stable. Together these support repeatable density and mechanical properties across tall builds.
What alloys does the FS812M-U run?
The FS812M-U focuses on titanium (Ti-6Al-4V, TA15) and nickel superalloys (IN718, HX) and also runs stainless 316L, aluminium AlSi10Mg and maraging tool steel. Because parameters are open, Additive Plus can help qualify additional alloys and supply validated parameter sets for your material.
What layer thickness and atmosphere does it use?
The FS812M-U runs 0.02–0.10 mm (0.0008–0.0039 in) layers under a nitrogen or argon atmosphere at 12–15 L/min, selected by alloy. Thinner layers favour resolution and surface finish; thicker layers raise build rate on robust alloys. Additive Plus supplies the parameter set that matches your alloy and part goals.
What does delivery, install and support look like?
This is capital equipment: Additive Plus handles facility, gas and power planning, US installation and commissioning, operator training on BuildStar / MakeStar®, qualified alloy parameters and local warranty and service. Lead time is configured to order and leasing or financing is available — request a quote and a named engineer will confirm timing and configuration.
