What your process engineer actually checks

Locked, traceable lot chemistry

Every lot ships with a COA documenting PSD, sphericity, flow rate, apparent density, and full chemistry — and a lot number you can trace. Aerospace and medical teams reorder 4+ times without re-qualifying.

Qualified parameters, not just powder

Validated parameter sets for EOS M 290, Renishaw 500Q, SLM 280, and our own AO Metal LPBF ship with the order. Load the profile and hit density on the first build — no parameter-development burn.

A materials engineer on the line

Questions on ferrite content, flowability, recyclate ratios, or HIP response? A materials engineer answers directly — not a contact-form bot. Most replies in under 4 hours, NDA standard.

About this product

The sca3600 is a large industrial & high throughput solution for removal of soluble support materials on 3D printed parts. It provides demonstrated options to perform support removal on multiple materials such as ABS, ASA, PC, Nylon, PEEK, etc. In removing support for FDM/FFF and Mate- rial Jetting processes, such as Polyjet or Extrusion Technology, the sca product family provides a wide range of predefined machine settings and is fully compatible with all soluble support material concentrates, from water to caustics. It further provides the user with the appropriate level of agitation to balance the needs of heavy removal while maintaining critical dimensions on delicate or intricate part geometry. With additional features that include a simple electronic interface for pre-set temperature & time, easy part loading & unloading, and durable stainless-steel tank for caustic support removal operations, the sca3600 is your finishing solution!

FAQs

What 3D printer types are compatible with the SCA?

The SCA support removal systems are compatible with any 3D printers utilizing Soluble Support Technology (SST) materials for supports. This includes soluble support materials that work with ABS, ASA, PC, and nylon filaments.

The SCA cleanses 3D printed parts by immersing them in heated water mixed with a mild cleaning solution, which effectively dissolves the soluble support material. The design of the SCA models optimizes the process to reduce the duration required for support material removal.

The SCA is filled with water and a small portion of either a sodium hydroxide-based solution (WaterWorks) or an eco-friendly option (EcoWorks). Standard tap water is sufficient for filling the SCA tank; there’s no need for distilled or filtered water. For quick support removal, WaterWorks Soluble Concentrate P400SC is recommended, while EcoWorks offers a gentler cleaning alternative.

Typically, the SCA-1200HT can handle 2.4 lbs. of support material before the solution needs changing, while the SCA-3600 can process up to 5 lbs. Look for these signs to know it’s time for a change:

– The tank appears cloudy or lacks clarity.
– White ABS parts may start to exhibit brown or yellow discoloration.
– Printed parts might develop a sticky residue or stick together due to excess dissolved solids.
– Functional components may not operate as intended.
– Support material remains after an extended cleaning cycle.
– The solution’s pH level decreases significantly.

For the SCA-1200HT, one bottle of WaterWorks or 6 EcoWorks packages is sufficient. Meanwhile, for the SCA-3600, it’s best to use 2 bottles of WaterWorks or 13 EcoWorks packages. If you’re using a different cleaning solution, refer to the manufacturer’s guidelines for the correct amount.

The duration for support removal can vary based on factors such as part geometry, size, the cleaning solution utilized, pH levels, and material types. Initially, plan for about four to five hours. You can check the progress during the cleaning cycle and remove parts as soon as the support material is dissolved.

Absolutely. All SCA systems have undergone testing for continuous operation at the recommended temperatures and are designed with safety features that facilitate unattended use.

Disposal guidelines differ based on location. To determine the appropriate disposal method, refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet provided with the cleaning concentrate or consult local regulations and authorities.

Same lot 4 times in a row. We stopped re-running parameter sweeps after the second order — density was identical to the first build.

Asked about ferrite content on a Friday. A materials engineer answered Monday morning with actual data, not a sales pitch. That's why we keep ordering.

COA matches the bottle. PSD and flow are exactly what was on the sheet — we run it on a Renishaw 500Q and it hits density on the first try.
