About this product

The Carbolite Gero LHT is a high-temperature laboratory oven built in three maximum-temperature grades — 400, 500 and 600°C — and three bench-mounted sizes of 30, 60 and 120 litres. A heavy-duty convection fan gives good uniformity, low-thermal-mass insulation gives a fast response and high energy efficiency, and a corrosion-resistant brushed stainless-steel interior stands up to routine lab use. The LHT is rated for continuous operation and driven by an R38 PID controller, with programmable controllers, over-temperature protection and a viewing window available as options. It bridges the gap between a 300°C lab oven and a full industrial high-temperature oven.

Why engineers choose the LHT

Bench-scale high-temperature heating to 600°C, rated for continuous duty — figures below are from the Carbolite Gero datasheet.

Three temperature grades

LHT4 (400°C), LHT5 (500°C) and LHT6 (600°C) — high-temperature heat treatment on the bench without stepping up to a full industrial oven.

Three bench sizes

30, 60 and 120 L chambers with two multi-position shelves — a compact footprint that still fits meaningful sample loads.

Fast response, continuous duty

A heavy-duty convection fan and low-thermal-mass insulation give quick heat-up and even temperature, and the LHT is rated for continuous operation.

R38 PID + options

R38 PID control as standard, with upgraded multi-segment programmers, over-temperature protection, viewing window and variable-speed fan available.

How Additive Plus delivers it

Configured to order, installed and validated by engineers who run heat treatment in-house.

Step 01
Configure to your process

Pick temperature grade (400–600°C), chamber size (30, 60 or 120 L), controller and options — over-temperature protection, viewing window, variable-speed fan, spares kit.

Step 02
Install & support

US-based delivery and setup, operator guidance, and Carbolite Gero spares and service handled locally.

Step 03
Validate your cycle

We help set ageing, tempering, debind pre-heat or drying temperatures and ramp rates for the samples and parts you process.

Temperature grades & chamber volumes

Model Max temp Available chamber volumes
LHT4/x 400°C 30, 60, 120 L
LHT5/x 500°C 30, 60, 120 L
LHT6/x 600°C 30, 60, 120 L

Minimum operating temperature is approximately ambient +60°C. Full per-model dimensions, shelf loading, recovery times and power ratings are in the Specifications tab.

Not sure the LHT is the right oven?

If you need lower temperature, production-scale capacity or a controlled atmosphere, a sibling Carbolite Gero oven may fit better.

Tell us your target temperature, sample type and batch size — and whether the process tolerates air — and our applications engineer will confirm the right LHT grade and size. Configurations are priced per specification.

Why source through Additive Plus

  • AM heat-treatment expertise — soak temperatures, ramp rates and atmosphere guidance for the alloys and parts you process, not just oven delivery.
  • In-house heat treatment at AO Metal — we run post-processing daily and can validate a cycle before the oven ships.
  • US-based support and consumables — Carbolite Gero service, spares and calibration handled locally.

What temperatures does the LHT laboratory oven reach?
The Carbolite Gero LHT is built in three grades: LHT4 (400°C), LHT5 (500°C) and LHT6 (600°C). It reaches temperatures above a standard 300°C lab oven while keeping a compact bench footprint. Temperature uniformity is ±5°C and minimum operating temperature is about ambient +60°C. It is an air-atmosphere oven — for oxidation-sensitive work needing an inert atmosphere, the Carbolite Gero HTMA controlled-atmosphere oven is the better choice.
What chamber sizes are available?
The LHT comes in three bench-mounted sizes: 30, 60 and 120 litres, each available across the 400, 500 and 600°C grades. Every unit has two multi-position shelves; heavy-duty reinforced base and shelves can be specified for denser loads. It is a compact oven that still handles meaningful sample volumes. Our applications engineer will help match the size to your work.
Is the LHT rated for continuous operation?
Yes. The LHT is suitable for continuous operation, which makes it a good fit for long soaks, ageing runs and processes that run around the clock. Low-thermal-mass insulation gives fast response and energy efficiency, and the heavy-duty convection fan maintains uniformity. For unattended long-duration cycles we recommend adding over-temperature protection to safeguard the load and the oven.
What controller does the LHT use and can I program cycles?
The LHT ships with the R38 PID controller for single-setpoint control. For programmed multi-segment ramps, soaks, data logging and digital communications, a range of upgraded controllers and programmers can be specified at time of order — useful for controlled heat-treatment cycles. Additive Plus will help you choose the right controller for your application, from simple set-and-hold to multi-step ramp/soak profiles.
Can the LHT be used for metal AM stress relief or ageing?
Yes, for small-batch work with alloys and cycles that tolerate an air atmosphere. At up to 600°C the LHT handles ageing, tempering and stress relief of many metals on the bench. Oxidation-sensitive alloys such as titanium should be treated under inert gas — for those, the Carbolite Gero HTMA controlled-atmosphere oven holds oxygen down to 50 ppm. We run heat treatment in-house at AO Metal and will advise which oven suits your alloy.
What options are available on the LHT?
Options specified at time of order include upgraded controllers and multi-segment programmers, over-temperature protection, a viewing window, variable-speed fan, cable entry ports, floor stands and stacking frames with vent, a routine spares kit, an air-exhaust fan (which may alter achievable uniformity) and heavy-duty reinforced base and shelves. Tell us your process and we will configure the LHT to match.
What is the lead time and does Additive Plus install it?
The LHT is configured to order, so lead time depends on the grade, size and options chosen — request a current quote and we will confirm it. Additive Plus handles US-based delivery and setup, provides operator guidance, and coordinates Carbolite Gero spares, service and calibration locally. Because we run heat treatment in-house at AO Metal, we can help validate an ageing or drying cycle on your samples before the oven ships.
