What your process engineer actually checks

Accuracy and finish you can present

KS408A prints crisp detail and a smooth opaque white surface with high dimensional accuracy, and its 12–20% elongation gives more forgiveness than rigid high-temp grades. It is the grade to reach for on concept models, fit-check prototypes, and parts that get handled.

Why engineers choose KS408A

A general-purpose white SLA resin with accuracy, finish, and everyday toughness.

ABS-like opaque white

A clean opaque white surface that photographs well and takes paint or primer easily — the go-to look for presentation and concept models.

Higher elongation, 12–20%

More give than rigid high-temp grades, so parts flex before they snap — a better fit for snap features, clips, and prototypes that get handled.

High accuracy & smooth finish

Prints crisp detail and a fine surface straight off the platform, holding dimensional accuracy for fit-check and appearance models with minimal sanding.

Runs across SLA platforms

A standard 355 nm laser resin (Dp 0.135–0.155 mm, Ec 9–12 mJ/cm²) — compatible with Kings, UnionTech, ZRapid, 3D Systems and similar industrial SLA machines.

How we supply it

A production print center supplying proven resins — not a warehouse reselling boxes.

Step 01
Proven, then stocked

We run a production SLA print center in-house. We only stock resins we have printed and validated ourselves — so what ships is a known quantity, not a catalog listing.

Step 02
Stocked in California

KS408A ships from our Los Angeles warehouse in 1–2 business days, sealed with a batch data sheet, plus starting exposure parameters for common SLA platforms.

Step 03
Custom formulation on request

Need the resin tuned to a specific colour, toughness, or certification? Tell us the target and we will discuss a custom SLA formulation with our material partners.

Common questions

Don't see yours? Email [email protected] — NDA standard, typical reply within 4 hours.

What is KS408A resin best used for?
KS408A is an ABS-like opaque white laser-SLA resin for everyday prototyping. It prints with high dimensional accuracy and a smooth white surface, making it a strong choice for concept and presentation models, fit and form prototypes, electronics housings, footwear tooling, master patterns, and architectural models. Its 12–20% elongation gives more forgiveness than rigid high-temperature grades, so KS408A parts tolerate handling and light snap features better than brittle display resins.
Which 3D printers is KS408A compatible with?
KS408A is a standard 355 nm laser-SLA resin compatible with most industrial SLA systems, including Kings, UnionTech, ZRapid and 3D Systems laser platforms. It runs at a penetration depth (Dp) of 0.135–0.155 mm and critical exposure (Ec) of 9–12 mJ/cm², with exposure tuned per machine. Tell us which SLA system you run and our materials engineer will share starting parameters for KS408A so you can print without a long calibration cycle.
What colour and finish does KS408A produce?
KS408A is an ABS-like opaque white resin. Parts come off the platform with a clean white surface and fine detail, so they photograph well and take primer or paint with minimal preparation. The smooth finish and high accuracy make KS408A a common pick for appearance models and presentation prototypes where a neutral white part is preferred over a translucent or coloured one.
How strong are parts printed in KS408A?
After UV post-cure, KS408A reaches 27–31 MPa tensile strength, 68–75 MPa flexural strength, 2690–2775 MPa flexural modulus, 76–82 Shore D hardness, and 12–20% elongation at break (ASTM D638/D790/D2240). Notched Izod impact is 58–70 J/m. This gives KS408A a balanced, semi-tough character — accurate and rigid enough for fit checks, yet more forgiving than high-temperature grades, which suits general prototyping and handled parts.
What temperature can KS408A withstand?
KS408A has a glass transition temperature (Tg) of 55–70 °C by DMA and a heat deflection temperature (HDT at 0.46 MPa) of 55–65 °C. It is a general-purpose prototyping resin rather than a high-temperature grade, so it is best kept away from sustained heat or hot-water contact. If your part must hold shape near heat, ask us about KS1208H, the 135 °C Tg high-temperature grade we also stock.
Does KS408A require post-curing?
Yes. Like all SLA resins, KS408A parts are washed and then UV post-cured to reach their full mechanical properties. Post-cure develops the crosslink density that gives the resin its final strength, hardness, and dimensional stability, so skipping or under-curing will leave parts weaker and tackier. Ask our engineer for the recommended post-cure schedule for your part thickness and finish requirements.
Can I order a sample before buying a full 10 kg bottle?
Yes. Rather than a free-resin giveaway, we offer a paid benchmark print in KS408A: send your STL and we print a representative part you can inspect for accuracy, finish, and fit in your own process. It is the fastest way to confirm KS408A suits your application before committing to a full 10 kg bottle. Use the Talk to materials engineer button to arrange it.
