About this product

The Microtrac STABINO ZETA is a zeta-potential and particle-charge analyzer built for fast, precise charge titration. Using the streaming-potential method — not slow electrophoresis — it measures five parameters at once (zeta potential, streaming potential, conductivity, pH and temperature) on every data point, for particles from 0.3 nm to 300 µm at up to 40 vol% concentration. A full pH, polyelectrolyte or salt titration to the isoelectric point takes only minutes.

The STABINO ZETA — streaming-potential charge titration for concentrated, real samples.

Why colloid and formulation labs choose the STABINO ZETA

Charge, stability and isoelectric point in minutes — on concentrated, real samples.

Five parameters at once

Each measuring point returns zeta potential, streaming potential, conductivity, pH and temperature — a full charge fingerprint, not a single number.

Fast, precise titration

Mix-and-measure titration runs a pH, polyelectrolyte or salt curve in 5–15 minutes with hundreds of data points — isoelectric point in minutes, not an afternoon.

Concentrated, real samples

Streaming potential works up to 40 vol% with a wide charge range (±3000 mV), so you characterize the formulation as-is rather than a heavily diluted proxy.

Add in-situ size

Integrate a NANOTRAC FLEX probe into the cell to track particle size during a charge titration — making coagulation and the critical agglomeration point visible in real time.

How Additive Plus supports it

A configured, installed analyzer with a charge-titration method dialed in on your material.

Not sure the STABINO ZETA is the right analyzer?

DLS-based zeta, a size-only dip probe, or larger particles by diffraction.

Tell us your dispersion and whether you need charge titration, size, or both together — our applications engineer will confirm whether the STABINO ZETA, the DLS WAVE II or a STABINO + FLEX combination is the right fit, and can run your own sample first. Sub-4h reply, NDA standard.

What does the STABINO ZETA measure?
The STABINO ZETA measures zeta potential and particle surface charge, and reports five parameters simultaneously at every data point: zeta potential, streaming potential, conductivity, pH and temperature. It works for particles from 0.3 nm to 300 µm at up to 40 vol% concentration. Combined with a NANOTRAC FLEX probe it can measure particle size as a sixth parameter in the same sample.
How is streaming potential different from electrophoretic zeta measurement?
Classical zeta analyzers use electrophoresis, where titrations are often slow and less accurate. The STABINO ZETA uses the streaming-potential method — a fast, calibrated mechanical measurement — so it delivers high-resolution charge data with a very high data-point density. That makes titrations far quicker and lets it work on concentrated, turbid samples that electrophoretic DLS struggles with.
What titrations can the STABINO ZETA run?
The STABINO ZETA runs pH, polyelectrolyte and salt titrations with a built-in titration function, determining all five parameters at each dosing step. A full titration takes only 5–15 minutes and records several hundred data points. Common outputs include the isoelectric point, stable pH ranges, charge density, dispersant optimization and zeta potential as a function of conductivity.
Can it measure concentrated samples without dilution?
Yes. The STABINO ZETA measures up to 40 vol% concentration with a wide charge range of ±3000 mV, and its mix-and-measure design keeps the sample continuously mixed to prevent sedimentation during titration. You characterize the real formulation rather than a diluted proxy, which matters for concentrated ceramic slips, coatings and colloidal products.
Can I measure particle size at the same time?
Yes. A NANOTRAC FLEX DLS probe can be integrated into the STABINO ZETA measuring cell, so particle size distribution is measured alone or during a charge titration. This makes coagulation visible in situ and lets you identify the critical agglomeration point — a powerful way to evaluate colloidal stability. Additive Plus can supply the STABINO ZETA and FLEX as a combined workflow.
How much sample does it need and how easy is it to run?
Very little and very simple. Pour 1–10 mL of sample into the Teflon beaker, open the software and start — the STABINO ZETA's mix-and-measure design does the rest. Titration speed can be tuned to your sample's reaction rate and saved as an SOP, so routine QA measurements are fast and repeatable for high sample throughput.
What is the lead time, and can Additive Plus help set up a method?
The STABINO ZETA is configured to order; request a quote for the current lead time. Additive Plus is an authorized US channel and handles installation and training, then helps build your SOP — charge titration, isoelectric point, dispersant optimization and, if needed, combined size-and-zeta with the NANOTRAC FLEX. You can also send a dispersion for a paid measurement first. Sub-4h reply, NDA standard.
