Why metrology labs choose the Qness 250 / 750 / 3000 A+ EVO

Three macro methods, full automation and microscope-grade optics on one motorized frame.

Three force classes on one platform

One EVO platform in 250, 750 and 3000 kgf classes. Test force spans 0.3 kgf to 3000 kgf (2.94 N – 29,430 N) under motorized control — macro Vickers, Brinell and Rockwell without hanging weights.

Three methods, automatic turret

Vickers, Brinell and Rockwell with automatic test-force and indenter selection. XLED Brinell evaluation lenses give direct, wide-field illumination for precise, repeatable reads on soft indentations.

Fully automated positioning

Motorized 450 × 297 mm XY table, X 460 / Y 350 mm travel and per-point Z height let the machine step between specimens of different height unmanned. CAS collision protection and QATM workpiece recognition slow the head on contact.

Optics and sample-image camera

A single universal microscope resolves 0.1–8 mm with even illumination and no dark edges. A 5-megapixel Ethernet colour camera images the full 450 × 297 mm table as a sample map for overview, documentation and unattended programming.

How Additive Plus delivers it

Configured to your standards, installed and calibrated on-site, supported by engineers who run metallography daily.

Step 01
Configure to your lab

We spec the load class — 250, 750 or 3000 kgf — plus the turret load-out, XLED lenses, downholder, sample holders and Qpix Control2 license around the parts and standards you test.

Step 02
Install & train on-site

Factory-trained engineers install the system, verify calibration against certified reference blocks per ISO 6506 / ISO 6507 / ISO 6508 and ASTM E10 / E92 / E18, and train your operators on Qpix Control2.

Step 03
Validated & supported

You leave with a tester that reproduces reference blocks in spec, DAkkS-traceable indenters in the box, and method support with a sub-24h engineer response.

Which hardness methods and force classes does the Qness 250/750/3000 A+ EVO cover?
The Qness 250/750/3000 A+ EVO is one automated platform offered in three force classes — 250, 750 and 3000 kgf. It performs Vickers (HV), Brinell (HBW) and Rockwell (HR) macro testing with electronic force control from 0.3 kgf up to 3000 kgf, so a single frame covers low-load Vickers through heavy Brinell. Methods conform to ISO 6506, ISO 6507 and ISO 6508, and to ASTM E10, E92 and E18. Additive Plus configures the load class, indenters, XLED lenses and downholder to the parts and standards you report to.
What standards is it calibrated and verified to?
Each Qness 250/750/3000 A+ EVO is verified against certified reference blocks and calibrated to the methods it runs: ISO 6506 / ASTM E10 for Brinell, ISO 6507 / ASTM E92 for Vickers and ISO 6508 / ASTM E18 for Rockwell. Indenters ship DAkkS-traceable. This direct and indirect verification is exactly what an AS9100 auditor or NADCAP assessor checks, so your macro-hardness results are conformant, not merely comparable.
What makes the A+ fully automated compared with the M, E and CS/C models?
The A+ adds a motorized 450 × 297 mm XY test anvil (X 460 / Y 350 mm travel), electric test-head height and a full-table sample-image camera, so it programs and runs unmanned series across specimens of different height. The M model is manual, the E is an economical universal frame with motorized dynamic height adjustment, and the CS/C is a C-shaped-frame variant. Choose the A+ when throughput and automated sample maps matter; the other frames trade automation for cost or geometry.
How large and heavy a part can it test?
The A+ EVO offers 362 mm test height and 320 mm throat depth, a motorized 450 × 297 mm anvil, and supports effectively unlimited workpiece weight when the part is supported on the bench or floor. That envelope suits large castings, forgings, shafts and weldments. For very tall or awkward geometries the CS/C frame or a custom portal setup may fit better — an applications engineer will confirm reach and clearance for your parts.
Can it run automated case-hardening depth, weld maps and batch QC?
Yes. With the motorized stage and Qpix Control2, the A+ EVO runs automated CHD and SHD Vickers traverses, HV/HBW maps across welds and heat-affected zones, and unattended batch series driven by the full-table sample-image map. XLED Brinell evaluation lenses give repeatable reads on soft Brinell indentations. Programs are stored and repeated, and CAS collision protection with workpiece recognition slows the head on contact.
What is the lead time, and what does installation include?
The Qness 250/750/3000 A+ EVO is configured to order with a typical lead time of 6–10 weeks. Delivery through Additive Plus includes factory-trained installation, calibration and verification against reference blocks, and operator training on Qpix Control2. The machine weighs about 695 kg, so we plan siting and power (110/230 V, ~1680 W) with you. Request a quote for pricing and a confirmed schedule.
Can it test additively manufactured parts, castings and forgings?
Yes. The A+ EVO validates macro hardness on LPBF and DED metal builds, sintered PM parts, castings, forgings and heat-treated sections, using Brinell up to 3000 kgf for coarse or heterogeneous structures and Vickers/Rockwell where appropriate. Automated mapping quantifies uniformity and heat-affected zones. Additive Plus runs metallography and AM materials work in-house, so we advise on the load class, method and fixturing for your alloy.
