The QATM Qness 250 / 750 / 3000 CS/C EVO is a C-shaped-frame macro and universal hardness tester built in three force classes — 250, 750 and 3000 kgf — running Vickers, Brinell, Knoop and Rockwell from 0.3 up to 3000 kgf with fully automatic electronic force control and short cycle times.

QATM Qness 250 750 3000 CS/C EVO C-frame macro hardness tester – rapid indenter changing
Qness 250 / 750 / 3000 CS/C EVO — C-frame macro hardness testing with rapid, tool-free indenter changes.

Why metrology labs choose the Qness 250 / 750 / 3000 CS/C EVO

Three macro methods, redeveloped optics and a compact C-frame tuned for short cycle times.

Three force classes, one C-frame

One C-shaped-frame platform in 250, 750 and 3000 kgf classes. Electronic force control from 0.3 kgf to 3000 kgf covers macro Vickers, Brinell, Knoop and Rockwell with no hanging weights.

Short cycles, automatic force

Fully automatic electronic force application and a 5 MP Ethernet camera (up to 270 fps) keep cycle times short. Tool-free indenter changes via a quick-release mechanism.

Redeveloped optics + XLED

One universal microscope resolves 0.1–8 mm with even illumination and no dark edges. XLED Brinell evaluation lenses give repeatable reads on soft Brinell indentations.

Built for large parts

175 mm test height, 220 mm throat and a ø100 mm anvil with effectively unlimited workpiece weight. A wide range of test anvils and prisms handles large, spherical or uneven parts.

How Additive Plus delivers it

Configured to your standards, installed and calibrated on-site, supported by engineers who run metallography daily.

Step 01
Configure to your lab

We spec the load class — 250, 750 or 3000 kgf — plus the turret load-out, XLED lenses, downholder, anvils and Qpix software around the parts and standards you test.

Step 02
Install & train on-site

Factory-trained engineers install the system, verify calibration against certified reference blocks per ISO 6506 / ISO 6507 / ISO 6508 and ASTM E10 / E92 / E18, and train your operators on Qpix.

Step 03
Validated & supported

You leave with a tester that reproduces reference blocks in spec, DAkkS-traceable indenters in the box, and method support with a sub-24h engineer response.

Which hardness methods and force classes does the Qness 250/750/3000 CS/C EVO cover?
The Qness 250/750/3000 CS/C EVO is a C-shaped-frame platform offered in three force classes — 250, 750 and 3000 kgf. It performs Vickers (HV), Brinell (HBW), Knoop (HK) and Rockwell (HR) macro testing with fully automatic electronic force control from 0.3 kgf up to 3000 kgf. Methods conform to ISO 6506, ISO 6507 and ISO 6508, and to ASTM E10, E92 and E18. Additive Plus configures the load class, indenters, XLED lenses and anvils to the parts and standards you report to.
What standards is it calibrated and verified to?
Each Qness 250/750/3000 CS/C EVO is verified against certified reference blocks and calibrated to the methods it runs: ISO 6506 / ASTM E10 for Brinell, ISO 6507 / ASTM E92 for Vickers and ISO 6508 / ASTM E18 for Rockwell. Indenters ship DAkkS-traceable. This direct and indirect verification is exactly what an AS9100 auditor or NADCAP assessor checks, so your macro-hardness results are conformant, not merely comparable.
How does the CS/C frame differ from the A+, M and E EVO models?
The CS/C is a compact C-shaped-frame tester with fully automatic electronic force control and a camera, but manual (spindle) test-height adjustment — tuned for short cycle times at a lower cost than full automation. The A+ adds a motorized XY stage and sample camera for unmanned series; the M is manual; the E is an economical universal frame with motorized dynamic height. Choose the CS/C when you want fast automatic-force testing on a compact frame without a motorized stage.
How large a part can it test?
The CS/C EVO offers 175 mm test height, 220 mm throat depth and a ø100 mm anvil, and supports effectively unlimited workpiece weight when the part is supported on the bench or floor. A wide range of test anvils and prisms lets you test large, spherical or uneven parts. For taller parts or motorized positioning, the A+ EVO frame may fit better — an applications engineer will confirm reach and clearance for your parts.
How does it keep cycle times short?
Fully automatic electronic force application removes manual load changes, and a 5-megapixel Ethernet camera (up to 270 fps) with XLED Brinell evaluation lenses gives fast, repeatable indentation reads — including on soft Brinell impressions. Tool-free indenter quick-release and a 2-position tool holder speed changeovers. The PC and tester can sit far apart over Ethernet, which suits manufacturing cells with external control cabinets.
What is the lead time, and what does installation include?
The Qness 250/750/3000 CS/C EVO is configured to order with a typical lead time of 6–10 weeks. Delivery through Additive Plus includes factory-trained installation, calibration and verification against reference blocks, and operator training on Qpix. The basic device weighs about 250 kg and draws ~480 W (110/230 V), so we plan siting with you. Request a quote for pricing and a confirmed schedule.
Can it test additively manufactured parts, castings and forgings?
Yes. The CS/C EVO validates macro hardness on LPBF and DED metal builds, sintered PM parts, castings, forgings and heat-treated sections, using Brinell up to 3000 kgf for coarse or heterogeneous structures and Vickers/Knoop/Rockwell where appropriate. Additive Plus runs metallography and AM materials work in-house, so we advise on the load class, method and fixturing for your alloy.
