What makers and designers actually check
Detail and color you can use
Up to 0.05 mm resolution with 38 blue-laser lines for crisp geometry, plus a 5 MP color camera for realistic texture — pro-level capture in a 425 g device, without a professional-scanner price.
An applications engineer on the line
Advice on scan modes and technique for your objects, and help exporting into your CAD, slicer, or EXModel — from engineers who run these scanners. Demo available. Sub-4h reply, NDA standard.
The Shining 3D EINSTAR Rockit is a pocket-sized, fully wireless handheld 3D scanner with two light sources in one device — blue laser lines for fine detail and infrared for fast, large-area capture. It scans objects from 5 mm to 5 m at up to 0.05 mm resolution, markerless, with full-color texture, for a fraction of the price of a professional metrology scanner.

Why designers and makers choose the EINSTAR Rockit
Two light sources and pro-level detail in something that fits your pocket.
Two light sources, one device
Switch between 38 blue laser lines for high detail and IR for fast capture of large objects — precision when you need it, speed when you don’t, in the same scan project.
Detail you can use
Up to 0.05 mm resolution and a 5 MP color camera capture crisp geometry and realistic texture, scanning from a 5 mm part to a 5 m object. See full specifications below.
Markerless, works in daylight
Marker-free scanning in nearly every mode cuts setup and cleanup. Laser HD holds up to 110,000 lux and IR to 70,000 lux, so it scans outdoors and under bright shop lights.
Truly pocket-portable
At 425 g with a replaceable battery giving about 3 hours and integrated Wi-Fi, the Rockit works completely off mains power — one hand, no cables, anywhere.
How Additive Plus delivers your Rockit
Set up, supported, and ready to scan out of the box.
Calibrate & verify
Each unit is checked before it ships, so your first scans meet the stated spec with the calibration board included.
Onboard & export
Guidance on scan modes, marker-free technique, and export into your CAD, slicer, or EXModel — you get a usable scan on day one.
Support that answers

Scanning Performance
The EINSTAR Rockit pairs 38 blue-laser lines (19+19 crossed) and 7 parallel lines with an IR VCSEL. Laser HD captures at 2,800,000 points/s down to 0.05 mm resolution; IR mode reaches 4,800,000 points/s and up to 90 fps for fast, smooth capture of larger objects. Working distance runs 100–600 mm on laser and 160–1400 mm on IR, with a field of view up to 545 × 620 mm. See the full specification table below.

Portable & Wireless
The Rockit is built to leave the desk. Integrated Wi-Fi streams data without a cable to the PC, a replaceable battery gives around three hours per charge, and intelligent audio feedback tells you when coverage is complete without watching the screen. At pocket size and 425 g, it goes to the object — a car panel in the shop, a sculpture in a studio, a part on the bench.
Software & Output
The Rockit works with EXModel for scan processing and reverse engineering, and exports STL, OBJ, PLY, 3MF, and ASC. STL and 3MF drop straight into 3D-printing slicers, while OBJ and PLY carry the 5 MP color texture for design, art, and documentation. The full-color result is ready for print, CAD, or presentation with minimal cleanup thanks to marker-free capture.

Typical applications
A portable scanner for design, making, and everything in between.

From designers and makers running the EINSTAR Rockit
Unedited feedback from design, art, and reverse-engineering users.
Switched from spray-and-target scanning to just pointing it at parts — markerless in daylight is a game changer for shop work.
Detail is genuinely there at 0.05 mm; my printed replicas match the originals.
It lives in my bag. Wireless, pocket-size, three-hour battery — I scan on-site and process later.
