Which hardness methods and scales does the Qness 60 A+ EVO cover?
The Qness 60 A+ EVO performs Vickers (HV), Knoop (HK), Brinell (HBW) and Rockwell (HR) testing from a single 8-position motorized turret. The Vickers indenter ships ASTM- and DAkkS-certified. What is the smallest feature or thinnest layer it can measure?
With XLED optics up to 100× and glass-scale positioning to ±0.2 µm at the table, the Qness 60 A+ EVO resolves micro-indentations on thin coatings, case-hardened layers and small cross-sections. Field of view ranges from 2.80 × 2.10 mm (XLED 2×) down to 0.074 × 0.055 mm (100×). The right lens and load depend on your layer thickness — an applications engineer will confirm the setup on your own samples before you buy.
How does the A+ automation differ from the M (manual) model?
The A+ adds a fully automated XY cross-slide, automatic test-head height control and a sample image camera (52 × 39 mm) with automatic image acquisition, enabling unmanned test and analysis cycles and large sample-map programs in Qpix Control2. The M model shares the same force range and optics but uses manual XY and focus for single-piece testing. Choose the A+ when throughput and automated series measurements matter; for occasional single tests the Qness 10/60 M is more economical.
What do automated case-hardening depth and weld testing look like?
Qpix Control2 runs automated CHD, SHD and Rht hardness traverses and full HV maps across welds and heat-affected zones. The HRI function scans an area and stitches the individual images into one high-resolution overview — ideal for weld-seam documentation. Programs are stored and repeated, so series measurements are approached accurately every time via the glass-scale axes and CAS collision protection.

Yes. The Qness 60 A+ EVO validates hardness on LPBF and DED metal builds, sintered powder-metallurgy parts and heat-treat conditions, on both polished mounts and sectioned parts. Automated Vickers mapping quantifies build uniformity and heat-affected zones. Additive Plus runs metallography and AM materials work in-house, so we can advise on mounting, preparation and the load/method combination for your alloy.
