What is the MTL 802 WD designed for?
The MTL 802 WD is a single-phase wet and dry industrial vacuum built primarily for liquid recovery — standing water and flood remediation, machine-tool coolant, wash-down water and wet slurry. Its 21-gallon liquid capacity and 2.7 HP motor let it clear a wet job quickly, and a polypropylene filter bag separates solids from the liquid stream. It also works as a dry vacuum for general non-combustible debris, so one machine covers both wet and dry cleanup.
How much liquid can it hold, and how fast does it recover?
The MTL 802 WD has a 21-gallon liquid capacity and pulls 211.9 CFM of airflow at 90.1 inH₂O of water lift through a 2-inch inlet. That combination is sized for real remediation work — lifting standing water and coolant at a useful rate rather than trickling — with enough tank volume to clear a flooded area before you stop to empty it. Can it pick up wet slurry and debris, or only clean water?
It handles both. The MTL 802 WD uses a polypropylene wet filter bag with a 300-micron rating and 9 ft² of surface, which separates suspended solids and debris from the liquid stream as it recovers. That means it can take up wet slurry, coolant with chips, and dirty flood water — not just clean standing water. Genuine Delfin replacement filter bags are stocked in the US so you can reorder without downtime.
Does the MTL 802 WD also work as a dry vacuum?
Yes. Although it is built around liquid recovery, the MTL 802 WD is a true wet and dry unit and doubles as a dry vacuum for general non-combustible debris. That makes it a flexible single machine for facilities that need both wet and dry cleanup. For dust-heavy dry work specifically, a dedicated dry unit such as the DM 3 EL or a certified HEPA vacuum may be a better match — an engineer can advise based on your typical material.
Is it safe for combustible dust or reactive metal powder?
No. The MTL 802 WD is a general wet and dry vacuum for non-combustible material and is not an ATEX-rated or inert unit. It should not be used for reactive metal powders such as aluminum or titanium, or for bulk combustible dust. Additive Plus carries the Delfin Mistral inert and D2 ATEX vacuums for those applications. If you are unsure whether your material is combustible or reactive, send us the details and we will confirm the right unit.
What power supply does it need?
The MTL 802 WD runs on standard single-phase power at 115 V, 60 Hz. That is a deliberate advantage for a remediation unit: you can plug it in and deploy it anywhere a spill, flood or wash-down happens, without needing a three-phase outlet. It draws a 2.7 (2.0) HP motor from that supply. If you need higher continuous output for a large facility, the three-phase DG 70 is the alternative Additive Plus also stocks.
How large and heavy is it, and is it mobile?
The MTL 802 WD measures 21 × 23 × 42 in (530 × 590 × 1060 mm) and weighs 110 lb on casters, so one person can wheel it to wherever a wet job is. Measured noise is 76 dB(A) per EN ISO 3744, typical for a heavy-duty wet-dry vacuum. Its footprint and single-phase supply make it easy to move between bays, wash areas and flooded rooms without special installation.
