What is the ZEFIRO EV AP 560 designed for?
The ZEFIRO EV AP 560 is a high-airflow portable dust collector designed to integrate onto production lines and collect light chips and fine suspended dust at the source. How does it differ from the ZEFIRO EV AP 420?
Both are ZEFIRO source dust collectors, but the EV AP 560 is much larger. It moves 1589 CFM through an 8-inch inlet versus the 420's 412 CFM through a 4-inch inlet — nearly four times the airflow — and uses a 54 ft² Class M antistatic filter that filters finer than the 420's Class L. Choose the 560 for high-volume line integration and finer dust, and the 420 for mobile, point-of-use capture. An Additive Plus engineer can size the right one to your dust source.
Is it safe for combustible dust or reactive metal powder?
The ZEFIRO EV AP 560 uses an antistatic Class M filter, which reduces static build-up, but it is a standard collector for non-reactive, non-combustible dust rather than a fully ATEX-certified unit. Combustible dust and reactive metal powders such as aluminum and titanium require rated ATEX or inert immersion units. Additive Plus carries the Delfin Mistral D2 (ATEX) and inert models for those hazards. If you are unsure whether your dust is combustible, send us the material and an engineer will confirm the right collector.
How much airflow does it move, and through what inlet?
The ZEFIRO EV AP 560 moves 1589 CFM of airflow through an 8-inch inlet, driven by a 6.4 HP three-phase motor at IP55. That very high airflow-to-inlet ratio is what lets it capture fine suspended dust and light chips over a wide area or a full production-line hood, before the dust disperses. A 54 ft² Class M antistatic star filter keeps the airflow steady as fine dust loads onto it. Measured noise is 74 dB(A) per EN ISO 3744.
Can it be integrated onto a production line?
Yes — that is its primary purpose. The 8-inch inlet is sized to tie into production-line ducting and capture hoods so the collector pulls light chips and fine suspended dust straight off the process at the source. It is built on a portable frame so it can also be repositioned between capture points. Additive Plus can help you size the ducting and hood connections to match the 560's airflow to your line for effective capture.
