About this product

BELCRYO X is a closed-cycle cryogenic unit for the BELSORP series — programmable temperature control from 35 to 473 K without liquid-nitrogen top-ups, with ±0.001 K stability for variable-temperature adsorption and gas-storage studies.

What Is the BELCRYO X: LN₂-Free Cryogenic Control

The BELCRYO X is a companion unit that replaces the liquid-nitrogen Dewar on a BELSORP analyzer with a helium closed-cycle refrigerator. It holds any set temperature from 35 to 473 K, so adsorption isotherms are no longer fixed at 77 K and are never interrupted by a Dewar refill. See full specifications below.

Why adsorption labs add the BELCRYO X

Temperature freedom and stability without the liquid-nitrogen routine.

No liquid-nitrogen top-ups

A helium closed-cycle refrigerator holds the analysis temperature — no Dewar refills, no overnight level drift, no time limit on long isotherms.

Wide temperature window

35 to 473 K under program, so you run adsorption well beyond nitrogen’s fixed 77 K — hydrogen and methane storage, CO₂ separation, isosteric heat.

Ultra-stable

Temperature stability of ±0.001 to ±0.01 K keeps isotherms reproducible where a liquid-nitrogen bath drifts with level and time.

Seamless integration

Works with BELSORP MAX X, HP/HT, MAX G and MINI X through one BELControl workflow — up to three samples, pretreatment to measurement automatic.

Common questions

Don't see yours? Email [email protected] — NDA standard, typical reply within 4 hours.

What does the BELCRYO X do for a BELSORP analyzer?
The BELCRYO X replaces the liquid-nitrogen Dewar with a helium closed-cycle refrigerator, giving the BELSORP programmable temperature control from 35 to 473 K. Instead of adsorption fixed at 77 K, you set any temperature in that range and hold it indefinitely. That opens variable-temperature isotherms, isosteric-heat determination and gas-storage studies without refilling a Dewar.
Which BELSORP analyzers is it compatible with?
The BELCRYO X integrates with the BELSORP MAX X, MAX X HP/HT, MAX G and MINI X through the shared BELControl software, running pretreatment to measurement automatically. It measures up to three samples. We confirm compatibility with your specific analyzer and configuration before quoting, so the cryogenic unit drops into your existing workflow.
How stable and repeatable is the temperature control?
Temperature stability is ±0.001 to ±0.01 K depending on the set point. That is far tighter than a liquid-nitrogen bath, whose temperature drifts as the level drops. Stable temperature means reproducible isotherms and reliable isosteric-heat calculations — important when comparing gas uptake between materials or across a research programme.
What studies does the wide temperature range enable?
Because the BELCRYO X covers 35 to 473 K, you can measure hydrogen and methane storage isotherms at cryogenic and near-ambient temperatures, CO₂ separation performance, and adsorption enthalpy (isosteric heat) from isotherms at several temperatures. These are central to energy-storage, carbon-capture and MOF research that a single-temperature nitrogen bath cannot support.
What lead time and support come with the BELCRYO X?
The BELCRYO X is configured to order and matched to your BELSORP, so lead time depends on the analyzer and options — request a current timeline and we confirm it in writing. Installation, BELControl integration and a validated first variable-temperature run on your own sample are included, backed by application engineering with a sub-4-hour response.
