Description

Avimetal 17-4PH is manufactured via gas atomization to produce uniform, spherical particles with a particle size range of 15–53 µm. Optimized for LPBF, the powder delivers smooth recoating, minimal spatter, and reproducible layer fusion, ensuring high-quality builds across production batches.

The alloy composition (Fe balance, 16.28 % Cr, 4.15 % Cu, 4.18 % Ni, 0.28 % Nb+Ta) provides excellent mechanical performance after heat treatment: ultimate tensile strength 1300 MPa, yield strength 1100 MPa, elongation 10 %, and hardness 43 HRC. Controlled oxygen content (≤800 ppm) ensures consistent flow and predictable LPBF performance.

Avimetal 17-4PH supports a wide range of post-processing, including heat treatment, machining, welding, and polishing, enabling the production of durable, functional, and precise end-use components.
